This largemouth bass is in relatively good health. If you look closely there are three small ulcers, spaced almost equally apart (one of them is significantly smaller than the other two). Do not confuse these lesions with the cloacal (anal) opening just in front of the anal fin. The lesions are small (3-7 mm) and well circumscribed (well-defined boarders). It is likely that a fish could survive these ulcerative lesions. On a severity scale of 0-5, these lesions rank 2 (mild).
